Madonna to open Russian fitness club: Voice of Russia: "American pop star Madonna will open a Hard Candy Fitness club in Moscow in March. This will be the second in a global chain that belongs to the singer. The first opened in Mexico last month.
Commenting on the news Madonna emphasized: “It’s especially exciting to have the second Hard Candy Fitness open in Moscow as I really enjoyed the city and the people when I visited during my “Sticky & Sweet Tour”. The network of fitness clubs has been named after Madonna’s 2008 album. The club “Ledenets”, the Russian translation of the Hard Candy name, will be located near the Russian capital’s Red Square and will look over the Kremlin. Its organizers said that clients would be able to look at the Kremlin towers and their stars during their work out. The club’s premises have been chosen, but they have to be fitted out in line with the Hard Candy global style.
This does not mean that the Moscow “Ledenets” will be a blueprint of the Mexican club. The two clubs will differ because each takes into account national specifics. However, the price of an annual membership will be the same in both cases. The admission fee is 800 U.S. dollars, and it includes two month’s of exercising. Client will have to pay 160 U.S. dollars a month after wards. This sum is comparable with the prices of Moscow fitness clubs, says fitness fanatic Victoria Berezko."
